[CIVILIZATION] New Forum Edition

Introduction

Have the infamous quote from Cheshire:
Spoiler: Civilization Explanation
For those who don't know about the Civilization gamemode, which was originally developed on Facepunch Studios:
Civilization, or Civ for short, is a unique type of gamemode developed by Penguinnnnnn... something, back when I first started Pixel Wars. Around early 2010, I believe.
Joining users create their own little map and build structures, forge alliances, go to war, and etc.
How to tie all these maps together? The World Map.
The World Map is a grid of tiles, and each tile represents a user's map.
Armies move between these tiles and stuff like that.

Guidelines 'N Rules

General rules apply.
No massive armies, no .JPEG saving, Internet Explorer, wait for someone else to take a turn before you declare again etc.

There is no 'post your sheet' requirement.
As long as your armies don't win battles by eye rape and you've put effort into them, you can join.

To join, place your tile on the World Map and create a map for your territory.
Please remember to put a symbol or your username on your tile.

When you move onto another user's map, declare.
No stack declares too. You don't need to declare if you're the only one on the tile, though.

Do not expand the World Map.
If enough interest is shown, then it can be expanded. Right now it has room for 9 players but we can easily bump it up to 16 players.

If you do not declare often, you are vulnerable to replacement.
Usually a week's time from your last declare is the limit.

Build speed
There will be no speed building or anything like that. If you start late then you can start with a small base to catch up but that's it. It's just all about being sensible. If you're going too fast then we'll let you know.

Starting units
You may only start with a small army. About 5 men and 1 or 2 vehicles. The rest you'll have to make or recruit yourself. Like your base, don't pull a huge army out of your arse. If I remember correctly, in previous civs I used to recruit 5 men every 5 turns once my base was big enough, as for the vehicle it depends on the size of it obviously.

Travel
You may move the the tile either side of you, and above or below you (as long as there are no obstacles, you can't scale a mountain with a tank etc) You may not move diagonally or go from one side of the WM to the other. If there is a blank space then you have to go around it, but if there really is no other option then you may jump over it.

The WM

You may declare on the world map before you've made an actual map and try to make your actual map represent your WM tile.

The soldiers and a Mr Gusty unit exit the truck. Colonel Lawson breathes in the brisk air and takes note of his surroundings.

No one particularly cares about quality of sprites. More about quality of gameplay, really

Michael Rosen YTPs are still funny.

The Black Gulls (That's my army) has unanimously voted to go to war with every single country on the map. This is due to the fact that they are pirates.

Michael Rosen YTPs are still funny.

Disembarking from the 2 large Huskies the joint forces of the Royal English Rifles and the Royal Scots Engineering Corp survey the area, some leaving their weaponry inside the 4X4s. The drivers of the Command and Transport variants of the Huskies keep on standby; ready to move at the first sign of construction needing to be done where they're currently sitting idle.
The Captain of the RSEC informs his troops of the position they'll need to start building and tells them to unload the crates of equipment and tools.

RE: [CIVILIZATION] New Forum Edition

The forces of Terra Roma make landfall on an unknown planet, thought to have gone unclaimed by other powers in the area. Legatus Legionis Aetius, commander of Legio LXI Inceptor, arrives at a small rise in the terrain some distance from the drop zone with his entourage, consisting of his signifer, Decimus, legionnaire Quintus and plebeians Appius and Plinius.

"Do you see that, Decimus?" queries Aetius, hailing his long-time comrade-in-arms as he surveys the seas beyond.

"See what, legatus? replies the standard-bearer, unsure of how to respond. Aetius had a habit of asking him odd questions like this.

"The lands ahead," replies the legate, as if the answer were obvious even though he and Decimus are surveying an expanse of water. "Roman land, Decimus, the lot of it - and we, men of Legio LXI, shall be the ones to make that fact known to whatever crude natives make their huts here. We'll set up our outpost here and begin scouting for a suitable location to site the first Roman colony. Have the plebeians begin fashioning lodgings and a barracks out of the hillside we stand upon. Our first priority is to expand our presence here. We may be fierce Romans, but even the rudest barbarian can snatch victory with large enough numbers behind him."

Decimus relays the order to Quintus, who further relays it to the plebeians to his rear. Tired as they are, the plebs are happy to comply - they never supposed that they'd be the ones selected to be part of the first exploration team and to lay the first Roman marble bricks on Terra Roma's newest planet.

Shouldn't your map be facing the opposite way Cube? On the WM your sea is to the east.
