Temple Brawl - Piskat vs KittenPillar vs Toothpick

In the dormant temple, clattering of metal and footsteps on the ancient block floors can be heard far away as setting up occurs. Aware of their impending attack, fortifications are set up for a complicated offence.

Metal feet ran across muddy ground, closing in on the temple. Red mechanical eyes swept the area. Up in a tree, a lighter armoured variant was watching the teple, checking for movement so there would be no nasty suprises. For them at least. Three other units in near identical armour moved forward, one with an assault rifle slogging through the lake before the temple, while its ally watched over with a rocket launcher, pointed to vaugely the same place the scout was aiming at. At the very front, the third of the three similarunits charged forward, equipped for close combat with a large and dangerous looking warhammer. Attatched to said hammer was a strange array of some unkown purpose. A pair of mechanically enhanced flesh-thralls were also moving through, one entirely submerged, their weapons much cruder than those of their allies.

It was difficult to see which the leader was. The tallest one, which had strange protusions coming from its metal head had barely any armour, however its pistol type weapon was by far the most advanced, and the pack it was carrying was letting off a faint hum. One looking very closely would notice none of the water was touching it, staying one millimetre away. The other, by comparison, was short with heavier armour, and held a large weapon in a single hand. The weapon was a particle accelerator, and although that sort of weapon was advanced, it looked to be build in the same way as most of the other weapons, unlike the pistol. On, or rather the other hand, was a massive metal fist, attatched to the short one's own pack, probably to deal a devestating melee attack. It may have been the leader because it was quite far forward, and although it only had the expressionless red eye, it almost had the air of smugness about it only leaders can possess.

Moving in from the eastern-most area of the temple, a small Frenchian scouting party emerges from the greenery. They were tasked with simply observing and categorizing areas within the local vicinity - and after hours of trudging through derelict swamps - they've finally found something worth accounting.

Moving in point was Private Xavier Scott, relatively new to the squad he's learnt many things from this new-found group which has helped him survive in the field. Behind him, and considering whether or not to wade through the murky basin of water, was Private First Class Augustin White who had come in as a replacement unit for a recently KIA soldier within the scouting party. Finally, the two at the back consisted of Corporal Francois Bacon and Sergeant Phillipe Abraham, who both were the only two remaining original members of the group - after losing the other two and being replaced by the privates.

The orange box is placed at the choke and transforms into an MG turret. The sniper at the drop notices the humans running towards the temple and takes aim at one of the heads. The Post Bot closes off the entrance to the tree completely.

(I want to write longer descriptions but I have to go soon and need to get ready  :byodood:)

The scout in the tree noticed movement. Some blue thing messing about... A hand squeezed the trigger, and cases tumbled into the air as rounds smacked against the temple, one striking the blue thing on the chest. It turned out that the one armed with the missile launcher had decided to stay back, possibly so co-ordinates could be relayed from the sniper to it for a more accurate missile strike. It may have been that the weapon was just too heavy to lift overhead across the small pond.

Further forward, a fleshcraft was taking long, graceless strides within the lake, trying to get out as fast as possible. The assalt-rifle armed unit sprinted out with the melee fleshcraft, seemingly eager to get into battle. Their mechanical eyes were both fixated to a point in the distance. The tall one was just ahead, and had swirched the pistol to a one handed grip. It also happened to be running, but not for the thrill of combat. Seemingly, it wanted to do something after. The short commander walked forward instead, changing the particle accelerator to a two handed grip and flipping on the laser sight. It was rather strange in its bulkiness, perhaps it had another use...

Up front, the unit armed with the agumented hammer continued sprinting, not seeming to tire. It didn't notice the orange things above (In fact it may not have been able to see them) so it wasn't particularly cautionary with its movement, the heavy metal boots crashed against the stone of the temple heavily, giving away the position of the hammer-unit.

BANG BANG BANG BANG!

''Oh, merde!''

Resonating from an unknown area on the other side of the temple, a rapid series of gunshots echo throughout the passages eventually reaching the Frenchian troops. The gunshots generate swift reactions in Xavier and Augustin as they both drop to their knees, whilst Augustin nervously beckons over Francois leaving the oblivious Abraham to watch over the temple whilst pulling out a quick cigarette.

Returning to a ready position, Augustin peers past the stalactites and catches a hasty glimpse of an ominous red glow from within.

The Sniper slows down and lowers his rifle, feeling bad for the poor man who seems to be living it up at the moment. He gives out a small sigh before readying his weapon again and shooting a large searing needle through his head.

On the other side of the tower the two soldiers notice the dark sniper in the tree and open fire, the higher soldier underhands a grenade over to the tree after noticing another figure with a big gun under it.

The engineer falls over in shock, not having long left. He tries to take a deep breath but he can't, his lungs filling up with blood quickly, he starts to cry as he realizes all he did was build machines to do the same thing to others and starts to seize up as the blood pours out from his lungs and his chest. The Chief behind him sees all of this happening and wishes nothing worse, and readies his weapon to end his suffering

(that was a very dark post  :v:)

Re: Temple Brawl - Piskat vs KittenPillar vs Toothpick

By some small miracle, none of the blue shots hit the scout in the tree, although one set it alight, causing flame to creep across the surface. The Orange soldier was in plain view, and with a hollow stare from the red eye, it aimed down the sights, and the trigger was pulled.

Evidently the miracles weren't just happening to the scout, still, it had more than one weapon. These units were professional. A single projectile weapon, while effective, won't work forever. There always needs to be a backup plan...

The metal gloved fist swung out, while the one holding the sub-machine-gun relaxed. A metal hook-spike fired out, followed by an advanced hard-light laser rope tethering the hook to the wrist-launcher. An arm has no sights however, and the scout shot too far up In the next few seconds it would be able to zip over to the temple, however for the moment it was in a spot of vulnerability. Heavy weapons support?

No, the heavy had a problem of its own.

The orange grenade (At least, that's what it was inferred to be) tumbled down towards the heavy's position. It was a do or die situation, and the heavy cold only see one logical option. It dropped the rocket launcher behind it, and leapt forward, tumbling to the water. The fleshcraft looked out, evidently wanting to see how the grenade exploded. It stayed wary though, its mini-mini-gun pointed forward, in case something jumped out on it.

The squad of four was having an easier time however. The tall one's advanced pistol/fabrication device had created some cover after the single blue eye's advanced targeting systems had detected a lifeform of somesort, or at least something moderately hot. The barricade-cover was quite sophisticated in itself. Thick metal plates, covered with additional composite blates to provide protection against sniper rifles, while a simple energy sheild would disintegrate any grenades or missiles fired at it. Of course, there was a gap so peope could fire out of it. The short one had heard gunfire coming from up above, and had moved up to check, switching the CPA to a one handed grasp.

The hammer unit had spotted the Frenchian solddier with an infrared filter too, and moved up the stairs instead, trying to qieten its footsteps, but not doing an amazing job at it. The red-gloved fist smacked the wall as the unit ran past, embedding a limpet charge into the stonework. The red eye then focused on the orange soldier's damn fine ass armour, to find possible weakpoints, although that wasn't all that important due to the sheer power of the weapon it was holding. Soon it would be unleashed...

As the hot needle shreds through Abraham's helmet and skull causing an explosion of scarlet liquid to burst from the back of his head. The large boom from the rifle above shocks Francois as he turns around only to see his good friend's face turn into a mutilated mess and his lifeless corpse dropping to the ground.

But this is no time to mourn, he shall remember his close friend after Francois regroups with the other two. Tears fill his eyes as instincts kick in and he runs for cover in the cave.

''Baise! Augustin run!''

Meanwhile, Xavier is too immersed in the sounds resonating from within the temple to take notice of what's happening outside. Advancing slowly he raises his shotgun whilst thanking that standard issue Frenchian weapons are waterproof.

No, its a grenade. How else would you explain robo-heavy leaping away?

The grenade tumbles to the ground and bursts into a giant fireball sending shrapnel and searing rocket launcher parts around the area. Above him, the sniper witnesses both soldiers ready their weapons and unleash a torrent of needles towards him, hitting him all over his body.

Inside, the Captain hears the clattering of the metal feet in the stairwell and stares down the oncoming marauder, respecting his choice of melee and gets ready for a fight. As that happens though, the MG turret slowly turns it's ball joints to the other side of the hallway.

Right outside, the post opens up, creating a mobile platform above. The sniper reloads his rifle as a blue cylinder pops hot out of the chamber.

Re: Temple Brawl - Piskat vs KittenPillar vs Toothpick

Spoiler :
It came along, eventually...  :suicide:

The scout is mowed down by the automatic needler weapons and the self-destruct system activates, blowing the destroyed unit to pieces, and sending a boom across the temple, following the previous one made by the grenade. The explosion draws the attention of the fleshcraft combat slave, and its puny A.I decides that the sound was a threat. The dark eye looked upwards, and the microgun revved up, pumping tiny rounds into the tree at a blinding rate. Meanwhile, the rocketeer was struggling to get up, the heaviness of the armour causing a few difficulties.

The barricade was constructed, ballistic flesh plates made of enhanced muscle laced with a latticework of ironbone would provide a near impenetrable defence against most conventional weaponry. The melee combat slave squirmed through the firing hole, and flopped onto the floor, before running forward. If it had a decent bio-AI, then it may be seeing visions of glory, unfortunately for the little runt, all that was going through his head was: chargechargechargecharge. The assault unit's eye behind it faded out, and a light on the gun winked on, providing an easy view through the hole without any awkward squatting.

The unit with the particle accelerator, guided by thermal imaging cameras and hearing, pointed the weapon in the vauge direction of the soldier, however was less accurate than what would be expected. Possibly a premeditated choice to cause more damage. The gun started humming up and the ring glowed a greeny blue as the confusing weapon readied itself. The tall one broke the prolonged radio silence, speaking to the unit armed with the accelerator: "The welders are nearing, we must clear this building as efficiently as possible and move onto the drop point before they catch up" Those who intercepted the message would notice a strange song-like quality in the words.

The melee soldier, thinking its adversary may want to participate in close combat as it hadn't been shot yet, settled into a fighting stance, a slap-mine popping out of the red gauntlet. A speaker projected a slightly grating monotone voice: "I challenge you, enemy soldier, to a duel of melee weaponry. Do you accept?"
