VantagePoint vs Tiniuclx: Abandoned Utopia

Anna is working furiously, leaning over the keyboard while the interface screen flashes in front of her. Pictures of various classified pieces of weaponry pop up just for a few dozen miliseconds, before disappearing, while all the infomation is being copied into Anna's nanosuit. One of the images seems to stay up for a few more seconds, as if she's examing it...
"Would you look at that..."
The terabytes of data flow freely right into the compact, portable hard-drive. With it, Anna is able to materialize any of the designs she just copied, by teleporting every single one of the component atoms into place, in the blink of an eye, while looking just as fabulous as usual. All that by using her nanosuit as a teleportation relay. Of course, that's not all it can do, it can also amplify the strength and speed of the user, while also being very protective.
"Hurry up, we still have a couple of buildings to clear."
"Calm down, I'm almost done here."
The screen turns black for a second, then the word "SHUTDOWN" appears in massive, red letters. Anna moves towards the storage servers, ready to plant the explosives, so as all this armament won't fall in the enemy's arms. Behind her is Dyanne, her comrade and unofficial leader. Unofficial because they both hold the same rank, but Dyanne is more experienced and older, while Anna is a natural.
"If the others have just as little guards, this is gonna be a walk in the park."
"Don't get your hopes high, recon tells us that there is a barrack we have to check out, that must have some sort of defense."
As one might notice, Dyanne is wearing quite normal clothing, she even skipped armour. What this means, is up to anyone's guess, though, with her rank and all, she must be a formidable opponent.

Up on the roof, what can only be described as a walking tank is making its way towards the edge, carrying quite a sniper rifle.

Down on the roads, three soldiers are advancing towards the building up ahead, while the fourth is reloading his trusty assault rifle

Re: VantagePoint vs Tiniuclx: Abandoned Utopia

The insurgence team had arrived around 40 minutes prior. Dropped onto the roof, they found the building sealed, and the engineer had to set about prying their way in through the rooftop elevator doors with his e-tool. Once inside the main shaft, they found the docked elevator and cut into that too, from there the engineer could take a scan of the building, and assessed which floor the server room and main security hub would be on. Cutting a hole in the elevator floor, they dropped a rope down into the dark, and both the Commander and Engineer rappelled down, bust into the floor they were looking for, and found the server room. From there, they were able to open every elevator door in the building, and power up the mounted weapons.

20 minutes later, the Engineer has hacked into the server room and began downloading the necessary armament data, the Commander beside him assessing the situation.

"Ok, we should be done here in 5 minutes. We have this building secured, with the mounted guns operational and a marksman and mortar operator heading up to the roof - Are you sure you can't get the main entrance open? I really don't want to let one of the goons down there blow it open"

"Nah mate, this panel 'aint giving me shit, we're lucky i'm getting the data we need along with those doors open, I didn't fancy spending a good two hours cutting this building open"

"Fuck, ok, fine. Hughes, you down there yet?" He asks into his helmets communication system

"Yep, satchel charge on my belt. Do I get to bust this cookie open or what?" He's eager. Who doesn't like explosions? Plus, for a rookie, this was an exciting first job - wrecked cities are cool. Upon receiving the confirmation he was looking for, he eagerly moves towards the door to set the charge up.

Meanwhile, his fire-partner was on the platform above, trying to make sense of the odd screen he was looking at, pressing random buttons. "Hey Jez, can you get down here and have a look at this screen for me? I think it does something cool" He asks the engineer, who just ignores him.

Up top, the Heavy - Simply called Bomber - was getting ready to set his mortar up, next to the huge gun-thing that noone really knew how to make operational. He was purposefully not helping the marksman up that rope - shit, he's trained for that stuff, and he really didn't like snipers - Those nasty-as-fuck darts they fired into poor souls were particularly rogue-ish, and he didn't trust them.

Anna swiftly plants the packets of plastic explosives onto the server mainframe. This particular type of explosive is designed specifically to detonate with an extremely hot, fiery blaze, without generating much pressure. In other words, it will explode and basically melt everything in here, but it won't blow a hole into the wall, or ruin the building's structural integrity.

As the interface continues with the shutdown sequence, its screen turns off. Quite suddenly, all the other computers in the building also turn off, even the sign on the rooftop. The sniper strolls by it, seemingly ignoring the unexpected change in the state of the screen.

Down at the street level, the three soldiers proceed with the standard room-clearing procedure: the pointman opens the door while also giving the men behind free line of sight to any potential threats up ahead. They are only greeted by some stairs, and another door. In the back, the soldier wielding the assault rifle notices he's lagging behind, so he makes a run for it, remembering to close the door behind him as well.

The marksman clambers up onto the roof wondering how the "Heavy" got up faster than him. He brushes himself off as he strolls past Bomber setting his mortar up just in front of the big gun thing, before promptly hitting the deck and gasping a little.

"Bomber there's a fucking hostile on that roof over there, second one over"

Bomber drags his mortar back a little just so he's out of any sight-line and talks into the radio:

"Err, Jez, we on a secure channel?"

"Yeah.. why?" The Engineer turns round and looks at the Commander, before resuming his hack - now at 80%. Not long now.

"Well Owens just spotted an unidentified motherfucker on a rooftop, on the building just behind the one infront of us"

The Commander - Fire-Team Leader Reginald, or "Reg" - curses into his radio and moves towards the floor-to-ceiling window, scanning windows, ordering the men on the guns to do the same.

"Right.. well down here we should be out of his sightline, but i'm willing to bet he's packing a long range rifle and the rest of his pals are in that building - shit, where the fuck did you say the other server room was Jez?"

"You guessed it. They should have the info on them, they're probably heading here right now! Hurrah!"

Reg didn't like his tone - Engineers are known to be a bunch of odd-balls and this one goes particularly weird in combat situations. He tells Hughes with the charge in the main hall to arm it and hide behind the statues, and wait for his signal.

"Bomber, load in a shell"

Dyanne makes her way into the elevator, giving the soldier a glancing look before turning around. Meanwhile, Anne is working on setting up the detonator mechanism in the last chunk of explosive. Once everything's set up, she makes a run for it.

"What took you so long?"
"It's not as easy at I make it look. It's gonna blow in about one minute."

Her long, beautiful hair flows freely through the air as she rushes towards the elevator. Some may think that this may not be a  very practical haircut for a battlefield, but for Anne the look is always on first place. And it seems to have worked, seeing that she's a very good soldier with the rank of Lieutenant-General, at the very young age of 26.

She is wearing a state-of-the-art nanosuit, designed to increase the strength and speed of the operator. Hers has been modified just to her liking: by removing some of the ceramic plates one would use for added defense, she has increased mobility and speed. The servos have also sacrificed sheer strength for speed. On her belt is the teleportation relay used to carry in and out of the battlefield all her weaponry almost instantly. This system is also used for warping in hardened plastic for defence, the instant a bullet gets near her, thus guaranteeing protection from expected attacks. The rounds may not pierce flesh, but they can still break bone, and the stiffness of the plates combined with their sudden appearance may stun her for a bit if she is hit. Also, the suit is designer-made to showcase her curvy, youthful body.

Up on the roof, the sniper notices some movement on the roof of the barrack. Thoughts race through his mind, searching for the worst case scenario, and he has one in mind. He swiftly thinks up of a plan to minimize the threat of a potential enemy while still allowing the option of advancing. With a calm, monotone voice he transmits:

"Possible contacts on the rooftop of the barrack, proceed with caution."

Unphased, he puts away his sniper rifle and bearhugs the screen. The servos inside his armour start screeching as he starts ripping out the metallic display.

Down in the second building, the squad splits in two: the MP5- and FAMAS-wielding soldiers check the ground floor, while the P90- and M16-wielding continue onward.

The Engineer finishes his download and fries the system.

"Right, Reg, i'm heading downstairs to see what that twat's on about with some 'console' "

Reginald follows him to the elevator shaft, weary of standing next to a very large window.

Meanwhile downstairs, Hughes has armed the door and is waiting eagerly to blow it to shit. His fire partner, Whiteman, is having fun pressing buttons on the console, all the on-screen prompts seem to be in the native tongue for the planet they're on. Whilst blindly mashing at buttons, it appears to come to life - the screen turns green and he is presented with a HUD of somewhere on the roof.

On the roof, the big gun thing barks out ARMED in a very startling voice - scaring the shit out of Bomber, who has just fired a shell with a satisfying "Thum" at the rooftop the marksman was spotted on.

The sniper hears the sound of the propellant detonating, he can hear the whistling of the mortar rapidly approaching his location. Thanks god he planned for this, even with all his armour, he wouldn't have survived a direct hit. Shrapnel from the blast could also be manageable, though that could sting a little. To try and protect himself from the most damage possible, he tears out part of the screen, turns it on its side, grabs it by both ends and crouches. Calmly, he waits for the blast and announces over the radio:

"Contacts confirmed, we've got a mortar crew on the roof of the barrack."

Thoughts race through Dyanne's mind when he hears about the mortar. The sniper is out in the open, exposed. Heck, they have the height advantage, and he's a sitting duck. She can't risk losing him, he's vital to this mission.
"Get out of there! NOW!"
"Working on it..."

Meanwhile, the explosive do their job, detonating with multiple loud bangs. The firebursts are small, but very hot. Even though they aren't all that powerful, they make enough noise to be heard by the enemy, up in the barracks.

The sniper's powered armour is very different from Anna's nanosuit: it's specifically designed for defence and sheer strength, all the while sacrificing some speed. It is also very heavy, topping off at about 500 kilos. The strongest part of the armour is the shiny, blue breastplate, made from secret, advanced alloys. Even in thin sheets, this alloy is incredibly resilient to piercing and concussive damage, though it is easier to tear than would be expected. And oh boy, the sniper ain't got thin sheets! Under this breastplate are ceramic plates, designed to shatter on impact and absorb the damage. The rest of his body is also covered by similar plates. Beneath all that is a final layer of protection, plain old Kevlar. Though if something can pierce all these layers the Kevlar won't do much to stop it, maybe just to slow it down and minimize damage.

His helmet is also made of the advanced alloy, while also incorporating advanced optics allowing for great analysis of the battlefield and also enhancing normal sight. This helmet heavily uses angled plates, a design choice borrowed from modern day tanks, to minimize weight while still being incredibly resilient. And expensive. The only reason why this metal isn't used on everything is because of its cost. Though where it IS used, it's done properly. Even if the sniper were to die from his wounds, most of the suit would be salvageable and recycled.

If you could see the Engineers face past his tactical helmet, you'd see his eyes lighting up.

"Holy shit.. this is the console for the weapon on the roof.."

He skilfully taps at the screen - trained in almost every language known on a planet before embarking on a mission there - and the console lights up with the words "LOADING"

Meanwhile, the Commander has rappelled downstairs to the ground floor, plannign to attack the enemy which he is sure is in the next building in cohesion with the gunners on the floors above, instructing the foot soldiers in his plan as he makes his way through the hall.

The mortar shell lands behind the sniper, as the Heavy wasn't sure of the targets position. The marksman on the roof however, realises a mortar strike will at least have distracted the sniper, and jumps to his feet and takes a shot at the target in the distance, whilst Bomber loads another shell

Re: VantagePoint vs Tiniuclx: Abandoned Utopia

The sniper is dazzled by the loud noise and concussive blast of the explosion. Even through his thick armor, he felt as if he was punched right in the spine. The sniper round impacts what's left of the screen he was using as shielding. He felt the shock of the bullet through his arms, and that was enough to knock him back into his senses.
Memories from just seconds ago rush through his mind, and he remembers the plan he just thought up. And it's still going to work! He gets up, slams the screen onto the ground and starts running. He starts up very slowly but, assisted by the power armour, he is accelerating quite quickly, as metal chunks barely miss him. In his hurry, he fails to see the exact position of the sniper.

Dyanne is startled by the noise of the explosion, she was only expecting one: that of the servers. She fearfully says over the radio:

"Sniper, are you alright?"
"It's not me you should worry about. They have snipers somewhere up in the barracks. Tell your boys to be careful!"
"Finally some action going on! Can't wait to try out the weapons on that server..."
"Shut up! Our men are in peril and all you can think of is getting into the fight faster? You disgust me!"
"Gosh, calm down, will ya?"

Up into the second building, the soldiers continue with the clearing procedure. On the second floor, the P90-wielding soldier proceeds through the door. One floor below it, the MP5-wielding one starts running for no apparent reason. Unbeknownst to him, he is in the line of fire for the machine gun, even if he can't see it yet.

Dyanne is wearing a plain, white dress over a dark grey bodysuit. The latter is interwoven with Kevlar, thus giving some protection while still allowing for lots of mobility. Still, this is even less protection than what a normal soldier wears. On her left side, she has a sheathed, sharp combat knife, the sheath being in a specially designed pocket. Apparently, that is her only weapon. It remains to be seen how she will make herself useful in battle, with so little weaponry...

The gunner on the second floor notices movement in the adjacent window

"Target, second and third floors of next building - opening fire"

With that he squeezes hard on the trigger, the heavy tripod keeping the weapon quite steady. The adjacent building is peppered with fire around the second floor, with the third floor gunner unable to acquire a target, his partner focuses his fire at the second floor for now.

Meanwhile the commander and the rest of the riflemen are on the ground floor lobby, and he orders Hughes to blow the door

"We'll rush out while we're covered by the mounted gunners, and move into the next building to clear it up, there's bound to be more that we aren't aware of so stay on your toes lads!"

Up on the roof, Bomber has just been ordered by the engineer to loose one more round and hit the deck before the artillery weapon behind him fires, the marksman is on the edge of the roof spotting the enemy sniper in order to allow for more accurate shots.

A stray bullet hits the soldier on the second floor in the leg. He falls to the ground, checking his wound, with pain overriding the common sense to check for what hit him.
"Second floor, I'm hit!"
"Third floor, enemy machinegunner spotted! Opening fire!"
A three-round burst rushes towards the machinegunner. One bullet hits the protective metal plates on the machine gun, while another glances off the machinegunner's helmet. He is not hurt, but will be slightly stunned. The third round impacts the wall above him.

Up on the rooftop, the sniper has accelerated to a decent speed. His mind rushes through his plan as he reaches the point of no return: he jumps off, assisted by his powered suit. But he miscalculated, he isn't going fast enough! With his plan in crumbles, he has to think quickly... He can hear the whistling of another mortar round, but, without some blind luck, it's unlikely to hit him.

"I heard an explosion! What the hell is going on down there?!"
"Keep calm, guys, I'll take care of them... All of them..."

The missile launcher on the rooftop fires upon the sniper, his jump throwing the spotting sniper off-guard however, and the missiles are sailing towards the front of the building the enemy snuper just threw himself off of

"..What the fuck is he doing?" The Sniper keeps the rest of the squad updated on his movements.

The Commander moves out with his squad whilst the third floor gunner opens fire on the adjacent third floor whilst his fire-partner has nearly shat himself from his helmet being hit - luckily the manufacturing sector of the corporation didn't skimp on material

"Fuckin' Hell, well at-least you can only get shot in the head once, eh?"

The Commander moves out of the blown doorway with his squad under the cover of the gunners above.

The trio run forwards, going through the door.
"Ahh... Finally outside! Now I can try this baby out!"
Small, blue lightning-like flashes gather up around Anna's hands, starting to take the shape of a weapon. Her face is gleaming with excitement as the tiny thunderbolts caress her hands. She loves that warm, tingly feeling. Quite abruptly, the heat fades away, replaced by the cold feel of metal. She tightens her hands, grabbing the newly-materialized weapon.
She is holding a giant, minigun-like futuristic piece of weaponry. The first barrel houses a high rate-of-fire Plasma-Magnetized Shooter, designed for covering a large area with as much pain and death as possible. The second barrel is home to a robust and quick grappling gun mechanism, capable of raising over a ton of equipment and crew. That is, if it gets a good grip. It's as if this weapon was designed for her, since she can use it only thanks to the bionic implants in her arms and hands. This monster would break the arms of a normal human, that is if their spine doesn't fail first.

A distinctive thud comes from above, coupled with the shriek of glass shattering and of concrete failing. The noise is loud, but not loud enough to be heard by the enemy. The 500-kg hulk of metal and flesh just impacted the concrete wall of the second-to-last floor, slightly shifting it inwards. His arms took the brunt of his descent, helped by the mechanisms in his powered armour, while his chestplate stopped him horizontally. No real harm was done, other than a few bruises and a slightly dented wall. Now all he has to do is haul himself upwards, that may not be easy.

A round from the machinegun hits the carbine soldier in the chest, killing him swiftly. The two operators, that cleared the rooms in the background pop out of cover and open fire, while the wounded soldier desperately clutches his leg, trying to ease the pain and slow the bleeding.

One of the enemies shots hits its mark and punches straight through the visor of the gunner on the second floor, spraying blood up the wall as he falls. His fire partner, enraged, pulls hard on the trigger, firing at both windows, arcing his fire up and down between them.

Below, the ground squad moves to the door to gather themselves before breaching and clearing, the man at the back tossing a high-explosive grenade into the window above him.

The four missiles hit the corner of the last building with a deafening array of four explosions, sending the sign flying down towards the ground and shrapnel everywhere.
