Notice the strange crystals littering the landscape. Those are Askrexx crystals, found on the Viiar 'Sheum home world. These crystals, if used properly, can and will turn the tide of battle. They harness a strange magical power, and so far, the only species smart enough to decode it's power, are the Viiar 'Sheum. Other armies could easily do it. All you really need to do is replace the ammo clip of a gun with one of the crystals and it will enhance the weapons power.

Askrexx crystals are very dangerous, both to it's user, and anyone around him. Say you were to cram 5 crystals into a minigun. Chances are, it will overload, and the crystals will cause it to explode violently. Anyway, back to the photograph above. There also seems to be a strange structure in the middle. That is the work of Viiar 'Sheum priests. The skeletons are sacrifices to their gods. If a group of mages were to reanimate them (which is very possible) their scaly skin would reform around them, and depending on the situation, they will attack, or befriend that group. If you had a few crystals, they might be enraged that you are trying to steal from their gods, or they might try to help you with your current problem (If a problem was present).

On the left side, there is a structure that is built inside the hill. That was likely a Viiar 'Sheum labratory. Although, the lab would have been hidden if it weren't for the small chasm near the center of the structure. On the right side is a private home, probably owned by a rich Viiar 'Sheum warrior. Or possibly even a small library, hence the bookshelf.

On either side are obelisks with strange writing on them. They were indeed written by Viiar 'Sheum. The Obelisks purpose is still unknown to all armies with an extensive knowledge of the Viiar 'Sheum. But yet still, almost nothing is know about them anyway.

Re: Pw_Artifact

Yeah, Chao said it was cluttered, so it'd be hard to navigate/modify.

Re: Pw_Artifact

If you got rid of the green crystals and cleaned up the rocks it probably wouldn't be too bad. I'd make the dirt a tad bit darker as well.

I really like this map aesthetically other than those things.

Re: Pw_Artifact

I'm not sure, while the crystals make it look a little cluttered it adds a nice game mechanic for people to use, perhaps if it was executed differently

Re: Pw_Artifact

If you want to have crystals I would definitely lower their contrast to the dirt because it really tears your eyes apart. You could possibly leave the floating ones brighter to act as a focal point

Re: Pw_Artifact

maybe have the floating ones the current colour and the idle ones transparent - have them light up when interacted with?

Re: Pw_Artifact

I had a go at editing to try and show what I meant. The crystals aren't a bad idea, but there were a bit few too many of them. The rocks didn't really strike my fancy since they sort of drew your eyes away from the rest of the map.

Re: Pw_Artifact

You should really try to make your own version.
