Night Peak

Hello! This map was more of an experiment in lighting for me but I figured I'd upload it. I'm not entirely happy with some parts of it and it's a little small but otherwise it should be fine for play. Let me know what you think!

Re: Night Peak

It looks good, although it is a little linear.
The team on the left look like they will be at a pretty big disadvantage what with not being on a giant mountain, and you could maybe do with a bit of a more interesting cave system than what is basically just a big hollow taking up the whole inside, but the look of the map is quite nice.

Re: Night Peak

Updated with some changes:

- Better cave system.
- Better cloud shading.
- Less GIGANTOR lumps of gold.
- Night sky is less contrasty
- Misc other changes.

Thanks to Metal Chao, Superchocobo and Ziggurat for feedback!

Re: Night Peak

This is a big improvement.
Left side could still do with a bit more interest though, perhaps it would be sensible to expand the map leftward slightly?
You could add another mountain or some hills or houses or something, just so whoever is on the left isn't sitting on a flat bit of grass with a tree, faced with besieging a mountain.

Re: Night Peak

Yeah, the left is kinda small and empty, whoever starts there doesn't have too many options!

Re: Night Peak

This map looks great. Adding a large hill with cave networks on the left seems like your best bet

Re: Night Peak

I'd decrease the right's resources, they have far too much oil in my opinion. Perhaps add a small lumber or mining camp to the right?

Re: Night Peak

Resources don't matter especially for balance, but those oil deposits are much larger than they need to be. Make them smaller and then add more tunnels and caves, maybe extend the map down a bit? Try adding some more caves on the left as well to make for a more interesting battlefield.
