Temporary Buglist/Changelog - Jacquerel - 12-22-2013 01:58 AM

Please post any errors you have found with the new forum here.
I already know that signatures are a little broken and there's not much I can do with that retroactively, you should be able to fix them yourselves though.

I have also had reports of people being unable to resend lost passwords.
If that happens to you, please visit me at the IRC room so that I can manually reset your password and email address.

RE: Temporary Buglist - Eden - 12-22-2013 02:18 AM

Seems the spoilers don't work. (Obvious bug is obvious)

RE: Temporary Buglist - Jacquerel - 12-22-2013 02:24 AM

Ah yeah, spoilers were an extra that I haven't reinstalled yet. I'll get on that.

RE: Temporary Buglist - Propman - 12-22-2013 03:04 AM

I guess you could say...They spoiled upon changing forums.

RE: Temporary Buglist - Coconutsales - 12-22-2013 03:06 AM

I have a problem.

It looks different! Aghh my eyes are not pleased!

(Also, semi-serious, I have to use a small, shitty avatar because these forums don't support large avatars! Waaah!)

RE: Temporary Buglist - Jacquerel - 12-22-2013 03:10 AM

Avatars are currently 125x125, I'll check what they were set to on oldforums and bump it up to that

e: They were also 125x125 so I'm not sure why it's stopping you
I guess I'll increase it a bit anyway

RE: Temporary Buglist - Coconutsales - 12-22-2013 03:47 PM

Sorry, more specific- the avatar that I used, the filesize is too large. Not the pixel count. :P

RE: Temporary Buglist - Jacquerel - 12-22-2013 03:48 PM

Yeah, I was told that on IRC later and I've upped the limit by about 5x
If you still need more, just ask.

Gracias! Works perfectly now. :D

RE: Temporary Buglist - Jacquerel - 12-22-2013 04:32 PM

I've got the forum running on a fixed width like the old one but am having difficulty getting it to allow images to break the width and not stretch posts.
On the old forum long images could overrun post borders and your text would still wrap at the same width but that isn't true here.

Unsure if a fix is worth pursuing or if we should just encourage people to manually page break.

RE: Temporary Buglist - Ryteth - 12-22-2013 10:03 PM

My avatar size is 30x98, but it's forcibly shrunken to fit in a 50x50 box next to my posts. I'm allowed to upload an avatar as big as 250x250 though.
The large number of URL linked images in my signature does not allow me to edit my signature without removing half of what's in there. Character limit is set to 300.
The lack of proper word wrapping on this forum is irritating. Nobody's posts will fit within my 1024x768 monitor, and I have to scroll left and right to read everybody's posts.

RE: Temporary Buglist - Jacquerel - 12-22-2013 10:29 PM

The forum is currently 1225 thickness but I can reduce it to 1025 to more closely match the monitor resolution, it won't affect posts with wide images though I've tried to get them to work as they did on the old forum but there's no success there yet.

The other things I can probably do.

RE: Temporary Buglist - Jacquerel - 12-23-2013 04:44 PM

Images now scale to forum width, but return to original size if clicked.
Copying a scaled down image will copy the full-size version for easy turn editing.
This is an experimental feature to make posts easier to read, as I don't seem to be able to let images break borders any more. Please tell me if it is not to your satisfaction.

RE: Temporary Buglist - Stefman - 12-23-2013 05:25 PM

This new option is hurtimg my eyes, and also clicking sometimes not returning original size of the image. Please, remove it or at least make it conntrollable for users, if possible.
Also, forums showing error when subscribing or unsubscribing for topic's updates. Something like 'security descriptor mismatch' whatever it means. Nevertheless, after an error message a subscription or unsubscription seems to be done.

RE: Temporary Buglist - Gamma Plasma - 12-23-2013 05:46 PM

I wouldn't mind if there was some sort of option for it either, but that may not be possible without admin privileges. Also some people have hyperlinks in their images, which you'd obviously would have to click on to view the full sized image. This can be solved by them getting rid of the hyperlink, but what if you wanted to use the hyperlink as part of some secretive story telling or something? I dunno, it'd ruin the illusion.

Personally I'm not too bothered, but I would like the option.

Also I wouldn't be surprised if eventually someone tricks someone into clicking on a hyperlink to a malicious site, assuming the whole "click on image" idea gets engrained in everyone's head. I'd like to think everyone has their wits about them, but who knows.

RE: Temporary Buglist - Flummox - 12-23-2013 08:44 PM

Images in spoilers seem to be able to break the page width without stretching the text. Personally I think that's a better solution to this.
Also Gamma has a legitimate concern, in theory, but let's be honest, we're all friends here and if someone does redirect to a malicious site, we just take the post down and ban them.

RE: Temporary Buglist - Jacquerel - 12-24-2013 03:36 AM

After a lot of fucking around with SMTP, I have now fixed the email servers!
People should be able to reset their passwords/register for new accounts without me having to do stuff for them.

Next stop: Fixing subscriptions

RE: Temporary Buglist - Ryteth - 12-24-2013 05:10 AM

Speaking of thread subscriptions, it would be nice if the default option was to not subscribe to them after posting in one. I have to remember to un-check automatic e-mail updates every time that I post.

RE: Temporary Buglist - tiniuclx - 12-24-2013 03:03 PM

Yeah, I agree with Jager(?), we shouldn't be subscribed by default.

RE: Temporary Buglist - Jacquerel - 12-24-2013 03:08 PM

I made a new account to test and the default isn't to automatically subscribe.
If for some reason the forum has set it so that you do subscribe to every topic you can reply to, you can change that in your user control panel.

RE: Temporary Buglist - Eden - 12-28-2013 04:03 AM

I think I found a bug xD

RE: Temporary Buglist - Ryteth - 01-02-2014 04:54 AM

Clicking on Mark forum read results in an error message. "Authorization code mismatch. Are you accessing this function correctly? Please go back and try again."
This does not happen from the main page, only from within a subforum, such as general discussion.

RE: Temporary Buglist - Jacquerel - 01-02-2014 05:23 AM

Until that's fixed, clicking the subforum icons from the main page should produce the same effect (clicking one which is lit up for "unread posts" will toggle it to mark everything read)

RE: Temporary Buglist - Stefman - 01-06-2014 05:41 PM

Unsubscribtion action still don't work.

RE: Temporary Buglist - Jacquerel - 01-06-2014 06:24 PM

Yeah I haven't had much time to work on that one
